Example of Criminal Matters We Deal With
Assault (Basic and Aggravated)
Assault is easily the most common crime committed against the person in South Australia. To deal with the numerous forms that crimes of assault may take, South Australia has a number of assault offences with varying degrees of punishment depending on the seriousness of the assault. The types of offences, and penalties, are found in the Criminal Law Consolidation Act 1935 (SA) and the Summary Offences Act 1953 (SA).
Driving Unlicensed
In South Australia, you may commit one of a number of offences if you drive a motor vehicle on a road without holding a valid drivers licence to do so. Different offences and penalties apply depending on individual circumstances.
Serious Traffic Offences
The laws that describe serious traffic offences in South Australia are set out in the Road Traffic Act 1961 and in the Criminal Law Consolidation Act 1935. These matters must be dealt with by the Court and the penalties include imprisonment.
